In the French medieval town of Ervy-le-Châtel, in the Champagne region, the association Les Orgues de Saint-Pierre d’Ervy fosters a cultural dynamic deeply rooted in the local community, combining heritage advocacy, musical excellence, and educational commitment.
We had the opportunity to work with them to launch their website and record one of their concerts!
Since its creation in 2016, the association Les Orgues de Saint-Pierre d’Ervy, born from a spirit of heritage preservation, has set itself the mission of restoring an organ dating from 1755, and thus making the Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens church, listed as a French historical monument, sing again.
Beyond this objective, the association wanted to bring the best of classical and baroque music to the community of Ervy-le-Châtel, town recognised as a Small City of Character, and the residents of neighbouring villages. In 2022, it inaugurated Les Mosaïques Musicales d’Ervy-le-Châtel, a spring festival with a unique charm and delightful notes.
The event combines concerts, exhibitions, and a spotlight on the 16th-century ecclesiastical craftsmanship legacy, to create an immersive experience between music and heritage. The programmes have brought together internationally renowned artists, such as Éliane Reyes, Aleksandr Khramouchin, and the Sprezzatura ensemble conducted by Sébastien Fournier, as well as young talents from the Conservatories. This festival is also a space for enriching educational collaborations with the local elementary school, recognized as a Petite Cité de Caractère.
The association also offers concerts in the fall, for more intimate and equally extraordinary melodious events, which punctuate local cultural life in an architectural setting steeped in history.
